2006 LTC (APA – City Tournament)

Posted by Cooper in Hobbies

I played in my first cities tournament this last weekend and although our team didn’t advance to the finals in Las Vegas I still had a lot of fun. I only played in one match-up but I was quite pleased with my performance. I played against a Dane who’s a regular at the Mustard Seed who happens to be two skill levels higher than myself. He played extremely well though I ended up winning by captilizing on a couple key oppurtunities. It was pretty exciting to see so many good players in action performing ridiculously difficult shots. I now have new found motivation to improve my own skillz and push for a repeat appearance next year.

Oh, for the record I didn’t play against the guy who was willing to put money down on a game while giving me “ball in hand” every turn. I didn’t get to see him play though anyone who’s willing to proposition that is either wicked good or wicked crazy… I just wasn’t willing to find out which it was. ;)

Frustration of golf or the lack thereof

Posted by Cooper in Hobbies

You have to be crazy to get up at 5:45am on the weekend, drive 30 miles, only to play a game that has a tendency to piss you off. I bring it up because this was the case on Saturday, I went golfing with Jeremy, Matt, and Colby (Matt’s nephew).    Though this time I didn’t get pissed off as I normally do, probably the fact that I had the best round of my life shooting a 96. I was literally on fire with my 3-wood and let’s just say there were a few pars to be had, overall it was a *great* day. The best part about it is although Jeremy only played nine holes I had out shot him by a stroke (my 46 to his 47). Needless to say he’s not going to stop hearing for quite some time. ;)
